Automatic Street Light Controller Circuit
This simple circuit uses a LDR sensor to detector the presence of light and turns on or off the street lights accordingly. A demonstration of the project is done on the breadboard as shown below

This circuit mainly uses an LDR and Relay along with few other commonly used electronics components such as BC547 transistor, resistors, 1N4007 diode etc.
You can find the circuit diagram and necessary details to DIY this circuit on the following link: Street light controller circuit
Demonstration video for the project is shown below:

A Dark Detecting Light using IC 555
This is an interesting circuit idea which automatically ON the lights when there is a dark. This circuit is made by using an LDR and 555 timer IC. This concept can be used to build automatic lamps, night lamps, or we can also create a automatic morning alarm by using the very same concept.
This project is very similar to one that we have talked in Light Detecting Alarm. You can see here the circuit diagram and a step by step guide to make the circuit.
Demonstration of circuit can be seen in this video:

Dark Detector Circuit Diagram using LDR and 555 Timer IC
Dark detector is an application which detects the light in surrounding with the help of a light dependant resistor (LDR) or also known as photo resisotrs. In this project, a square wave generator is created using 555 timer IC based astable multivibrator, and a LDR is interfacing with it. When there is no light in surrounding, or in this case when room light is switched off, the resistance of LDR is increased which makes the LED glows which is connected with the output IC of circuit.
Check out the circuit diagram of dark detector and explanation at Circuit Digest.
